OSPOLY: Lost Glory Regains As NAMACOS Wins SUA Debate

The Students of the National Association of Mass Communication (NAMACOS), Osun State Polytechnic Iree has rejoiced as they won the just-concluded interdepartmental debate competition organised by the Student Union Association (SUA).




The debate had earlier started on Monday while today,17th November 2021 was the grand finale.



The NAMACOS President, Hon. Omilana Opeyemi expressed his gratitude by thanking the NAMACOS executives and Namacos Editorial Board (NEB) executives for their many sleepless hours over this achievement and termed the triumph as a great success in his administration.



Moreover, the Editor-in-chief (EIC) of NEB Olanrewaju Ridwan A. disclosed that "this glory has been lost from the department more than 3 years back, but we thank God we regain it today."


"We are very grateful to all NEB Predecessors especially the 2019/2020 set led by EDM Alo Anthony; it is a great pleasure to be your products. The memory has been recreated. Also, to other academic facilitators, we are grateful for your tremendous support."


In a similar vein, the Financial Secretary of the department, Adewuyi Omotayo expressed how difficult it was during the preparation, "during this achievement's preparation, we faced a lot even one of the participants was hospitalised, but still, we didn't relent." he stated.


The Students Adviser, Mr Ayinde W.A, recognised the judge, Mr Adetona and appreciate the effort of the Student Union and others for their commitment, love and discipline during the competition.


However, the SUA Chairman, Hon. Falana Johnson urged all the participants to see the academic exercise as a medium of developing themselves academically.
