OSPOLY, IREE HOLDS 28TH MATRICULATION CEREMONY

The Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY), Iree, has held its Matriculation ceremony for the 2022/2023 academic session with splendidness in which the occasion marked the initiation of the ND1 / HND1 students into the institution of higher learning. 


The event was held today, Friday, 5th of May, 2023 at the Polytechnic ETF Hall which enticed thousands of students, both new and old, as well as well-wishers of the matriculants. 


The ambience of the occasion could best be depicted as significant with the apparel of gowns amid the cheers and happiness of the matriculants, also the crucial fact of the occasion was the administration of the Matriculation Oath on the new students in a ceremony presided by the Rector of the institution. 


In his Matriculation Address, the Rector of the institution, Dr Tajudeen Adewale Odetayo congratulated the students and charged them to be focused on the primary objective of their studentship which is to study and graduate successfully to become proficient in their chosen areas of ambition. 


The Rector also used the occasion to charge the students to avoid any form of indecency or inappropriate dressing, he declared his administration’s zero tolerance to examination malpractice, insisting that anyone found guilty would be summarily expelled.


Similarly, the Rector advised the students to take their lectures very seriously. In his words, "Do all your assignments and tests. Don’t miss any classes and if you unavoidably do, then copy notes, revise the topics and you will achieve success in your examinations.”


Furthermore, Odetayo affirmed that the polytechnic under his watch would not tolerate any form of cultism, advising students to shun all evil associations and covert relationships which could lead to their rustication. 


“Dear Matriculants, I plead with you in the name of Almighty God to avoid and shun cultism and be among the vanguards towards its eradication” he stressed 


However, the management of the institution also urged the students to pay their tuition fees, and obtain their student identity cards (ID cards) to have access to their examinations. 


In a similar vein, some matriculants while conversing with NEB Correspondents, expressed their satisfaction at having attended the institution, wishing themselves good luck in their academic careers there.
