“Every Academic activity hereby suspended”~ASUP Chairman

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP), Iree chapter at the institution's gate today held an organized protest subsequently followed the suspension of Dr. Tajudeen Odetayo, the institution's rector, on grounds of corruption, abuse of power, misappropriation of finances, and other offenses. 


The protest came up Today, July 25, 2023, whereby students and staff at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree woke up to the protest by members of the ASUP. 


Comrade Fatai Afolabi, the ASUP Chairman of the State Poly, Iree chapter, voiced dissatisfaction on behalf of ASUP in an interview with NEB reporters regarding what he described as the odd suspension of the institution's rector.


Fatai emphasized that the rector is being suspended for corruption, recklessness, and misappropriation of funds. Noting that the hefty allegations can't be attached to anyone without substantive evidence. 


However, the Chairman stressed that every academic activity has been suspended pending the time of resolution. He said, “Every Academic activity hereby suspended till further notice”


“We also received a ledger that the appointed rector, Mr Alabi as acting rector of the institution; after all is an aberration because we have a deputy reactor on ground.  And if the rector is no longer available, the person that should take charge is the deputy rector in post of the acting rector. And in the absence of the rector, the deputy rector, then the most senior chief lecturer should take charge as the acting rector.  But the person appointed is not among the first 50 chief lecturers on campus.”


“The only thing that qualifies him is because he is an indigene of Ęde and that was why he is being qualified to the acting rector.  We want to tell the governor that it is not only ede people that vote for him.”


“Well, we are not here on our own, our National body is aware of what we are doing. And our national body is on their way from Abuja but the Asup members across south-west to join us.  We have Asup members from Offa, Ede, and other places here.”


“But the instruction is that we should shut down the gate and that's why we are here.” he said

OSPOLY Mgt Schedules Date for DPT Third Semester Examination, Urges Students To Pay School Fees

  By:Ademola Ezekiel  The Management of Osun State polythenic(OSPOLY),Iree scheduled Monday 18th,2023 for the commencement of the Daily Part Time (DPT) Program Third Semester Examination. This was unveiled in an internal memorandum released today,12th March 2023 by the Director of the Part Time  to all Student,which Reference number is OSPOLY/IR/DPTP/DAO/VOL 2/19 signed by Mrs M.V Faniyi Furthermore,  the memo enjoined students to pay their school fees before the commencement of the examination, also urged students to visit the school website to print their examination clearance, make move to be signed by the DPT Coordinator and proceed to the Director of DPT for the same purpose on Wednesday 13th,2023. "Examination Clearance form would be sign upon presentation of school fees receipt and evidence of registration starting from today,Wednesday 13th, 2023" the memo noted Additionally, it enjoined DPT students to comply with the above directive for their own interest.

OSPOLY Mgt Directs DPT Students For Counselling, Warns Failure to Comply Attract Sanction

 By: Mistura Mustapha The Management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, have directed all student of the Daily Part Time (DPT) studies for mandatory counselling programme, warns that failure to comply strictly attached sanction.      This was unveiled in an internal memorandum released today, Friday 13th September, 2024 REF No: OSPOLY/SAO/89 which was signed by Mr. Oyedeji M.O, stated that it is mandatory and imperative for all DPT students both ND 1 and ND 2 to make themselves available for the exercise which is scheduled between Monday, 23rd September to Monday 28th October, 2024.             "All students are expected to undergo mandatory counselling exclude no one" memo emphasized.         Furthermore, according to the memo,  noted that time table will be drawn on Faculty basis for collection and submission of Counseling Registration forms from the counselling unit. " Please adhere strictly with this directives failure to comply will attract sanctions" memo warned
