JUST IN: Osun Govt Suspends Odetayo As OSPOLY Rector over Alleged Corruption

The Government of Osun State has suspended the Rector of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Dr Tajudeen Odetayo over alleged corruption and misappropriation of Funds. 


The rector's suspension was contained in a statement communicated by the Ministry of Education and signed by the Permanent Secretary, M. K. Jimoh dated July 11th 2023. 


The Dr was appointed as substantive Rector of the Polytechnic on March 14, 2023, by the Governor of the state, Ademola Adeleke.


According to the statement, “The erstwhile rector should step aside pending the time the allegations against him is properly investigated by relevant bodies” 


You are to proceed on suspension immediately, while an investigation into the allegations leveled against you commences soon.”


However, Dr. Odetayo was suspended following allegations of financial recklessness, corruption, misappropriation of funds, and abuse of office.


In a new development, the Governor of Osun state, Ademola Adeleke has approved the appointment of Mr Alabi Kehinde Adeyemi as the Acting Rector of the Institution with immediate effect.
