“Both Mayowa and his Deputy are no Longer your Representatives”- Says Mass Comm Coordinator Over Alleged Extortion from Coursemates

The Coordinator of Mass Communication Department at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Mrs Igein Omobolaji has suspended the newly elected Daily Part-Time program ND1 Stream-B Governor, Olaleye Mayowa Bolaji, and Deputy Governor, Adeshina Aishat from their positions as class representatives over allegations emerged that the duo had been demanding ₦200 from fellow coursemates.

This decision which sparked reactions through the student body was in a statement released by the coordinator today, 22nd of August, 2023. Mrs Igein disclosed that the stream-B ND1 Governor and Deputy Governor had been demanding ₦200 from their Coursemates under the pretext of raising funds stating that the students' results for the Office Technology Management (OTM) course are certain.

Following a fair and transparent process, the Coordinator made the difficult decision to suspend the ND1 Governor and Deputy Governor from their roles as class representatives pending further investigation over the alleged misconduct.

The suspension of the ND1 Governor and Deputy Governor has generated mixed reactions among the student body, Some students applaud the swift action taken by the coordinator, emphasizing the importance of maintaining integrity and ethical conduct among student leaders. 

As the investigation into the alleged extortion continues, Mrs Igein has assured the students that due process will be followed, emphasizing that the department is determined to maintain its reputation for transparency and fairness, ensuring that justice is served and that the rights of all students are protected.

In a similar vein, The coordinator urged the students to prepare well for their examination to pass excellently noting that If they don't read to write their exams well, they should get prepared to fail. Also, she stressed that as soon as school resumes for the second semester, a new Governor and Deputy will be elected.

The statement reads;

“Hello students, I can see very clearly that your Governor, Mayowa is extremely stupid, otherwise he won't be requesting for money from you about this same course after I told him not to, You are not to pay any money to him and make sure you hold him strongly to give you your handout, If he doesn't give you all your handout today, he is in big trouble. If he isn't stupid why would he be telling you that your result for the OTM is certain, You should ask him if he is the one that will mark, If you don't read and do your exam well, get ready to fail ohhhhh.”

“As of today, both Mayowa and his deputy are no longer your representatives, As soon as school resumes for the second semester a new Governor and Deputy will be elected, Also a new WhatsApp group will be created and you will all leave this group and move to the new one created.”

“Ensure you focus on the remaining exams and do them well, It is only your best in the examinations that will determine your continuous stay, Some have been advised to withdraw, I pray that will not be your portion And I advise you strongly not to buy marks from anyone, you are only writing a letter to your failure faster.”
