BREAKING: “Academic activities will resume fully on Monday”-Ospoly Mgt Orders Immediate Resumption of Staff Members

The management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has ordered all staff members of the institution to resume back to their duty on Monday, August 14th, 2023 expressing that all academic activities will continue thoroughly. 


In a memo obtained by our correspondent on Friday, August 11th, 2023, and signed by Oyesowo Lawrence for the Acting Registrar, firmly expressed the management has directed all the staff members to resume their various duties as appropriate. 


Relatively, the management advised the members of staff to comply with the directive accordingly.



The memo read in full;


“I am directed to inform the Polytechnic Community that academic activities will resume fully on Monday 14th August 2023”

“In view of this, all members of staff are to resume for duties as appropriate” 

“You are hereby advised to comply accordingly”


This came after the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Kola Adewusi declared that the students should hold him responsible if the institution failed to open on Monday. Assuring the protesting students in his remarks that he should be held responsible if the institution fails to open on the day speculated. According to him, “The students have done the right thing by demanding their rights through a peaceful protest.”


Additionally, the Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, RT. Hon. Prince Adewale Egbedun likewise promised the students quick intervention and lasting solutions towards the reopening of the institution and assured them that the institution would re-open on Monday in a Peaceful protest staged by the institution’s students and presided by the Students’ Union Government (SUG), Students Union Association (SUA) with the collaboration of all Faculty and Departmental executives on August 10th, 2023 at the Government House Osogbo. 


"I think I called the president this morning, he said the protest will be peaceful that is why I encouraged him, I'm assuring you, we are going to seek to this today, I'm a student like you, I'm going to intervene today, I'm promising you a lasting solution." the speaker stated.


In reaction to the statement, the President of the Students Union Government of Osun State Polytechnic Iree, Azeez Tajudeen Adebayo emphasized that the students will depend on the promise of the speaker. 


According to the statement of the SUG President, "The speaker had spoken we are going to hold him accountable for what he has said."


In a related development, The Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnics (SSANIP) and Non-Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (NASU), Iree Chapter, have jointly announced the suspension of the ongoing strike earlier today at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree. 


It will be recalled that OSPOLY ASUP members staged a protest at the institution on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, following the suspension of Dr Tajudeen Odetayo as the Rector which affected the ongoing examination of the Daily Part-Time students of the institution. 


This protest, however, led to the stoppage of the examination and closure of the institution, in which the protesting body insisted all academic activities would be suspended till further notice.

OSPOLY Mgt Schedules Date for DPT Third Semester Examination, Urges Students To Pay School Fees

  By:Ademola Ezekiel  The Management of Osun State polythenic(OSPOLY),Iree scheduled Monday 18th,2023 for the commencement of the Daily Part Time (DPT) Program Third Semester Examination. This was unveiled in an internal memorandum released today,12th March 2023 by the Director of the Part Time  to all Student,which Reference number is OSPOLY/IR/DPTP/DAO/VOL 2/19 signed by Mrs M.V Faniyi Furthermore,  the memo enjoined students to pay their school fees before the commencement of the examination, also urged students to visit the school website to print their examination clearance, make move to be signed by the DPT Coordinator and proceed to the Director of DPT for the same purpose on Wednesday 13th,2023. "Examination Clearance form would be sign upon presentation of school fees receipt and evidence of registration starting from today,Wednesday 13th, 2023" the memo noted Additionally, it enjoined DPT students to comply with the above directive for their own interest.

OSPOLY Mgt Directs DPT Students For Counselling, Warns Failure to Comply Attract Sanction

 By: Mistura Mustapha The Management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, have directed all student of the Daily Part Time (DPT) studies for mandatory counselling programme, warns that failure to comply strictly attached sanction.      This was unveiled in an internal memorandum released today, Friday 13th September, 2024 REF No: OSPOLY/SAO/89 which was signed by Mr. Oyedeji M.O, stated that it is mandatory and imperative for all DPT students both ND 1 and ND 2 to make themselves available for the exercise which is scheduled between Monday, 23rd September to Monday 28th October, 2024.             "All students are expected to undergo mandatory counselling exclude no one" memo emphasized.         Furthermore, according to the memo,  noted that time table will be drawn on Faculty basis for collection and submission of Counseling Registration forms from the counselling unit. " Please adhere strictly with this directives failure to comply will attract sanctions" memo warned
