“Go play with Mum and Dad!” NAMACOS President advises students amidst resumption crisis

The President of the National Association of Mass Communication Students (NAMACOS), Daily Part-Time program, Osun State Polytechnic, OSPOLY, Iree, Com. Oladeji Israel Victor has advised his fellow students regarding the Asup ongoing strike in the institution to go and enjoy with their parents. 


The appointed president allegedly provided the information on his WhatsApp status On Saturday, August 5, 2023 (today) where he encouraged students to go and enjoy with their parents amid the indecisive strike which was initiated  by the Asup' union following the suspension of Dr. Tajudeen Odetayo, the institution's rector, gained substantial attention and attracted a significant number of students due to his influential role.


In his words, “My advise to all student, with the look of things and with the update we are hearing, there's no guarantee that school will be resuming on Monday, ‘Go play with Mum and Dad and keep praying for Ospoly” 


However, it has now come to light that the information provided by the president was erroneous and misleading. Several students have been reacting to the contradicting president's claims, exposing the lack of factual basis for the strike. some fellow students are expressing their disappointment and frustration at the president's actions.


One student, who wished to remain anonymous, said, "This una president really needs some public relations class to update his knowledge of understanding and how to address issues dealing with crisis like this, the SUG are in place to bring everything under control and ensure that academic activities proceed as soon as possible, and he's not in position to advise students to go home.”


Another respondent noted that, “I trusted our president and believed that the strike was necessary, But when I started digging deeper into the facts, I realized that the piece of advise can be misleading. It's disheartening to see someone in such a responsible position spreading misinformation."


More so, The controversy has sparked a heated debate and has left many students confused.

OSPOLY Mgt Directs DPT Students For Counselling, Warns Failure to Comply Attract Sanction

Ospoly Mgt Announces Disengagement of Part-Time Staff

 By: Tomiwa Obisesan The Management Of Osun state polytechnic, Iree have noticed with Dismay that a Large Percentage Of Part-Time Staff have not been coming to the Office and had been Collecting Unmerited Salaries . This was stated today Saturday, January 18,2025 through an internal memorandum signed by the school registrar Mrs. Foyinsade O. Apara . Furthermore, management had decided to disengage all Part-Time/Contract staff members with effect from Friday, 31st January, 2025 . However, the memo informed all disengaged Part-Time /Contract staff members who are willing to continue with the institution to re-apply through their Head of Department (HOD)/ Head of Unit , (HOU), who in addition would recommend such member of Staff if found . “ Application for Re-Engagement with recommendation letter from HOD/HOU are to be directed to the Registrar and submitted to the Personnel Affairs Office on or before the close of work on Wednesday, 29th January,2025.” the memo noted
