JUST IN: OSPOLY SUG Announces Protest Over Persistent ASUP Strike

The Osun State Polytechnic, Iree Students Union Government has announced that it will stage a protest at the Osogbo State House on August 10, 2023, in response to the ongoing suspension of academic activities. 

This was stated in a memo that was released on Thursday at 12:47 AM and was jointly signed by the Students Union Executives (SUE), Students Representatives Council (SRC), Students Union Association (SUA), All Faculty Executives, All Departmental Executives, All Class Representatives, and All Stakeholders.

The Union body made the decision, according to the memo, after giving it due thought and discussion in reaction to the institution's ongoing suspension of academic activities.

The Union, however, asked every student to take part in the protest because there will be cars available for transportation at the school gate at precisely 7 AM.

The memo reads in full; 

“Announcement Regarding Ongoing Actions by Osun State Polytechnic Students”

“Dear Fellow Ospolites,”

“Greetings to all members of our esteemed academic community. We wish to bring to your attention the decisions reached by the Students Union Government (SUG) and various student bodies in response to the prevailing situation.”

“After careful consideration and deliberation, it has been decided to invoke the spirit of the third "C" in ALUTA as a means to express our collective voice and concerns. Tomorrow, we will assemble at the State House in Oshogbo to make our stance known”.

Meeting Point: School Gate

Departure Time: 7:00 AM

Transportation: Vehicles will be available for transportation from the school gate.
