JUST IN: UNIOSUN SUG President, General Secretary Suspended Over Alleged Misappropriation of Funds, Others

The legislative arm of the Students' Union Government, Osun State University has suspended the Students Union President, Comr. Olawoyin Isaac Feranmi and the General Secretary, Comr. Ogunlade Adeniyi Micheal over allegations of misappropriation of funds and other misconduct.


The lawmakers categorized the president's and the General Secretary’s acts as a form of great threat to the continuity and development of the Union via an open letter obtained by NEB on Thursday, August 10th, 2023 (today) which involved the signature of Speaker Hon Oyeniyi Micheal and the acting clerk Hon Olaoye Lukman. Stated that the mace in attendance has highlighted some of the allegations and also provided adequate measures to rectify the issue in an effort to make sure that the union continues according to Article 3 (4) (a). 


The Arm accused the SUG President, popularly known as Zeeco, and its General Secretary of misappropriation of funds, Lack of respect for the Constitution, and also masterminded, conspired, and cooked lies by raising a false alarm to the management to put the Students union government election on hold over the threat of external factors to conspire against the said election which was scheduled to hold on 9th August 2023, misappropriation of funds and Lack of respect for the Constitution. 


However, the arms stressed that the president has on several occasions not followed the provision of the Union Constitution stating further that the president and the Gen-Sec have on several occasions withdrawn from the union account without the approval of the legislative and also without the consent of the executives Following article 2 (6) (g) and (h)  


“That the president, Comr. Olawoyin Isaac (Zeeco) and the General Secretary, Comr. Ogunlade Adeniyi Micheal is hereby suspended indefinitely as the president and the General Secretary of the union respectively”


“That the Suspended President and General Secretary should submit all the union property to the office of the DSA within 24 hours” the Release reads in part 


In a new development, the Arms declared the Vice President and the Assistant General Secretary as Acting President and the Acting General Secretary of the Union with immediate effect

OSPOLY Mgt Directs DPT Students For Counselling, Warns Failure to Comply Attract Sanction

Ospoly Mgt Announces Disengagement of Part-Time Staff

 By: Tomiwa Obisesan The Management Of Osun state polytechnic, Iree have noticed with Dismay that a Large Percentage Of Part-Time Staff have not been coming to the Office and had been Collecting Unmerited Salaries . This was stated today Saturday, January 18,2025 through an internal memorandum signed by the school registrar Mrs. Foyinsade O. Apara . Furthermore, management had decided to disengage all Part-Time/Contract staff members with effect from Friday, 31st January, 2025 . However, the memo informed all disengaged Part-Time /Contract staff members who are willing to continue with the institution to re-apply through their Head of Department (HOD)/ Head of Unit , (HOU), who in addition would recommend such member of Staff if found . “ Application for Re-Engagement with recommendation letter from HOD/HOU are to be directed to the Registrar and submitted to the Personnel Affairs Office on or before the close of work on Wednesday, 29th January,2025.” the memo noted
