UNTOLD SECRETS: Is It Worthwhile for Parents to Make Efforts on Behalf of Their Children?

In a world where efforts are shaped by many factors, the stories of your parents experiencing financial problems driving above and beyond just to pay for your academic pursuits or goals in higher institutions serve as an encouraging reminder and persistence of the essence of unending Love and sacrifice lay down for you as a child, will you take them for granted?

Many Parents out there have been struggling financially just to ensure that their children hunt academic pursuits where education is becoming more important for the future regardless of what people's perception of education may be, particularly the Youths in the society stating, “School na scam” doesn't stop them from allowing their children experience or acquire JAMB form to proceed to any tertiary institution of their choices.

Though parents can go bankrupt sometimes but will be refused to deny their children their optimum rights. Some parents' continuous support is oftentimes the most important aspect in discerning their focus based on the fact that their children must pursue higher education. Also Inspiring are the stories of the little amount of money received by parents who go above and beyond to support their children's aspirations of attending either the polytechnic, college of education or University in Nigeria as a country. 

However,  poor Parents choosing to finance their child's education often entails making a crucial personal sacrifice with little financial resources to ensure that their children have access to educational opportunities, they willingly give up their own dreams or goals in most cases by working or undertaking different awkward jobs, or sometimes working lately, and making any other necessary sacrifices to give their children the best possible future.

These parents often put in long hours, physically demanding jobs like evolving Bricklayer, Painters, Drivers, and Motorcyclists otherwise known as Okada, become available food sellers, or provision’ salespersons for an entrepreneur while some parents even hawk at the market square or street (Bread, cake bean, dry fishes, peanut, pepper, vegetables, okra, locust bean, etc) along with insufficient payment from such work. 

Many parents who receive small payments from work to finance their children's tuition fees do not have the chance to seek a National Diploma (ND) talkless of attaining a Ph.D. in any course. They are aware of its importance though, but they believe that their children's academic aspirations are the center of their hopes and purposes in life. This makes them build their children to learn the value of education, perseverance, and the confidence that they can overcome any challenges from their parents' steadfast determination, which acts as a motivating factor in the face of hardship.

Nevertheless, despite their difficult efforts on children, parents do not let their financial difficulties stop them, even though they can seem oppressed or devastated. They still look for alternative solutions, such as actively looking for ways and other forms of financial aid. And sometimes rely on the assistance of their friends, and fellow church members, or sometimes visit their family members for assistance in the face of obscenity. 

Beyond the financial support, children of poor parents usually receive priceless emotional care. In times of uncertainty, worry, and sickness, the mother in particular develops into a source of support for the child. They offer their children an understanding ear with encouraging words and a constant reminder of their value and potential. Their unshakeable faith in their children's potential emerges as a light of positiveness which often feeds their determination to succeed.

WILL YOUR PARENTS' EFFORTS ON YOUR EDUCATION BE IN VAIN AS A CHILD/STUDENT WHOSE PARENTS VALUE EDUCATION?

Worthy of attention, Despite the circumstances surrounded by obscenity that some parents encounter for children to become successful, particularly a child who is a student in a Higher level of education (University, Polytechnic, and Colleges), in this era of social media and advanced technology, most of them often neglect their parents' efforts and their initial objectives in their academic institutions under the influence of socialization with bad influence and propaganda. Some students even embezzled funds from their poor parents, putting them in uncertainty and anxiety as a result of the social life they desire to live.  

To visualize where many parents have become a messenger with hard labor tirelessly under the influence of the young boss (Oga) they breed responding ‘Yes Sir, Yes ma, okay sir, Okay ma’ just because of their children. (What will be your reaction if one of your parents is slapped by a manager for not discharging duty on time in public?) meanwhile, some parents are Driver Conductors and farmers struggling daily to feed the family.  

Yet, despite the money sent to their children in schools from those petty banknotes realized from the jobs they engaged in, it is sardonic how some ungrateful children who claim big boys and girls have their efforts frittered even though they are trying to rewrite their poor family histories amid the difficulties they endure, leaving a legacy of perseverance, optimism, and dedication. 

Worthy of note, why do many of these parents pay for their children's tuition fees? it is because they value their children’s educations which is assumed as a possibility to end the cycle of ‘poverty’ that has afflicted their family for many years as they picture education as a powerful instrument that can enable their children to overcome the limitations of their present situation which will create a better future. Their current sacrifices are an investment in the success of tomorrow, not just for their children but also for future generations.

Synonymous, Stories of poor parents who are going above and beyond to support their children's educations serve as an emotional reminder of the endurance of human enthusiasm. The extraordinary lengths many parents have gone to guarantee that their children must have access to the opportunities they themselves were denied are stirred up by the evidence of their sacrifices, determination, and steadfast love despite the difficulties they endure.  

In a similar view, parents are the unique creature who serves as guardian over their children.  They take additional responsibility for their children in other to meet the standards of society and associates.  If as a teenager or youth, you do not appreciate or respect the activities your parents are involved in to bring you up to this standard by fetching daily bread and motivating you from one status to the other, when will it be?? 

Their sacrifices, determination, and persistent love for children have always proved the incredible spaces parents are ready to take off to ensure their children have access to the possibilities they were refuted of. 

If not for any rationale, Your Parents' efforts day-to-day basis should not be in vain over you.
