Dipo Eluwole, the Commissioner for Education on the official Facebook Page, who called upon the general public, especially staff and students, to maintain a peaceful coexistence both within and outside the institution's campus.

Following a period of closure due to unforeseen circumstances, the decision to reopen the institution comes as welcome news to the entire academic community. However, the Governor's approval reflects the government's commitment to ensuring the continuity of education and the well-being of students and staff.

Hon. Dipo Eluwole emphasized the importance of maintaining a peaceful atmosphere within the institution's campus. He urged both staff and students to prioritize peaceful coexistence, respect for one another, and adherence to the rules and regulations of the polytechnic.  It will be recalled that the two week closure of the institution was a result of the suspended Rector of the institution, Dr. Tajudeen Odetayo showing up in office, whilst the acting rector of the institution, Dr. Kehinde Alabi has not been relieved.

Dr Tajudeen Odetayo was suspended by the Osun state government in July, over allegations of fund misappropriation, and misuse of office, among other allegations, thereby appointing an ede-born Mr. Kehinde Alabi as the acting rector of the institution, which led to a strike action initiated by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) that lasted for a period of thirty days.
