The Embrace of Fate: Echoes within the Labor Room's Realm
By: Victor Olaniyi
He knew not the pains,
He knew not how much it drained,
He knew not her grievances,
The weight of his seed she carried in pains,
Yet his eyes were awakened upon witnessing women in her condition.
Seated in the waiting room were men,
Beseeching for their wives with unwavering belief, the labor room proved no trivial affair, evident was the palpable tension on the faces of each man, some whispering anxiously as the progress lingered.
Echoes of primal screams carried from women enduring laborious agony from afar, Husbands gradually summoned to glimpse the result of their faith, And to behold the destiny of mother and child, One masked by tear-stained countenance, the other adorned with a radiant smile, As each man emerged from the labor room, departing the premises to share their personal fortunes.
Now anxiety gripped him for his wife's well-being, He recognized his shortcomings in caring for her every day. Now he dreaded for their lives,
"Oh God, assist me today, safeguard her and protect our child," he fervently implored. The moment arrived, his wife was guided to the labor room, and his heart raced intensely.
Like the rest, he patiently awaited his destiny.
