OSPOLY: Lost Glory Regains As FSC Wins SUA Debate Competition

The Faculty of Science (FSC) at the Daily Part Time program, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has emerged victorious in the eagerly awaited Students Union Association (SUA) Debate Competition. 

 

The event, which was held in the Institution's grand auditorium today, 10th November, 2023, witnessed fierce competition among various faculties, with the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FICT) securing the second position and the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) claiming the third spot.


The institution's annual SUA Debate Competition, a cherished tradition, serves as a platform to encourage academic excellence, cultivate healthy competition, and recognize the intellectual capabilities of its students. This year's edition drew participants from various faculties, all competing for the highly sought-after title.

 


However, it was the students from the Faculty of Science who truly captured the spotlight with their extraordinary performance. Showcasing an exceptional command over a diverse array of subjects, they consistently presented their viable points with unwavering precision and confidence. Not only did they demonstrate a profound understanding of their own field, but they also exhibited an admirable breadth of knowledge across various other disciplines.

 

The Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FICT) put up a strong fight, securing the second position with their critical reasoning and strategic thinking. Their well-rounded knowledge and ability to analyze their points earned them high praise from the judges and the audience alike.


Meanwhile, the students from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) showcased their expertise in the field of scientific analysis, securing the third position. Their meticulous attention to detail and ability to draw logical conclusions impressed both the judges and spectators.


The event was attended by distinguished lecturers, the DAO, Mrs Faniyi, other officials, and students from various faculties. The atmosphere was electric, with cheers and applause reverberating throughout the auditorium as each team battled it out for the top positions.


The winners were awarded trophies, and recognition for their exceptional performance. The event concluded with a sense of camaraderie and a shared appreciation for the pursuit of knowledge and intellectual growth.


The SUA Debate Competition provided a platform to honor the academic brilliance of the students enrolled in the Daily Part Time program while also serving as a source of inspiration for others to pursue excellence. As the curtains closed on yet another triumphant edition, it left an indelible mark on everyone involved, fostering a lasting motivation to persist in their pursuit of knowledge and intellectual growth.
