OSPOLY's Beloved ' Iya Favour ' Laid to Rest in Osogbo.

A wave of sorrow has swept through the Daily Part Time (DPT), Faculty of Management Sciences (FMS) at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, following the heartbreaking death of one of its respected officers, Mrs. Ojelade Abidemi Favour, widely known as " Iya Favour" . Who passed away on May 5, 2025, after a short illness, and was laid to rest today, May 7 in Osogbo.

Mrs. Ojelade, who worked at the wings of the institution (Koko Campus), was said to have fallen ill and remained sick for three days before being taken to the hospital. Sadly, she was referred to another medical facility while her condition worsened require oxygen and she eventually passed away.

Speaking on the incident with NEB Correspondent, the Students’ Union Association (SUA) Chairman, Hon. Comrade Akanle Oluwagbemiga, who witnessed the events, confirmed the efforts made to save her life by her relatives. “Mrs. Ojelade Abidemi Favour was transferred to another hospital before she died,” he said.

Her sudden death has raised concern and sorrow among the campus community, with many expressing their grief and frustration over the challenges she faced in accessing immediate care. Those who knew her remember her as a kind, committed, and supportive staff member who was always ready to help.


Mrs. Ojelade was buried today, May 7 at Zone 7, Ojelade’s Street, in the Alabameta area of Osogbo, close to Joy Filling Station. Friends, colleagues, Student's Representatives, and family gathered to pay their final respects and honor her memory.
