FICT Emerges Victorious in 2025 SUA Quiz Competition; FSC, FMS Secures Second, Third Position

In an impressive display of intellect and academic prowess, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FICT), Daily Part-Time (DPT) Program, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, emerged as the winner of the highly anticipated 2025 SUA Quiz Competition.

The keenly contested event was held today, October 27, 2025, at NLH 2, Main Campus. It featured participation from various faculties, with the Faculty of Science clinching second place and the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) finishing third.

An annual tradition at the institution, the SUA Quiz Competition aims to promote academic excellence and celebrate the intellectual capacity of students. This year’s edition attracted enthusiastic participants from different faculties, eager to showcase their knowledge and competitive edge.

The competition consisted of several challenging rounds, including general knowledge, current affairs, and school-related topics. Participants demonstrated exceptional quick thinking and broad understanding, leaving the audience captivated.

The FICT team stood out with their consistent precision, depth of knowledge, and confidence. Their stellar performance earned them the top spot, affirming their dedication and academic strength.

The Faculty of Science gave a commendable performance, earning second place with their strategic approach and rapid response. Likewise, the Faculty of Management Studies impressed with their analytical reasoning and attention to detail, securing third place.

The event was graced by notable officials including the DPT Director, Mr. M.O. Olaleye; Deputy Director, Mr. Omisakin; as well as staff and students from across faculties. The atmosphere was electric, with loud cheers and applause as each faculty vied for the prestigious title.

Lady Comrade Edm Ayodele Bamise, President of FICT, expressed immense pride in her team’s achievement, commending their hard work and dedication.

The 2025 SUA Quiz Competition not only celebrated academic excellence but also served as an inspiration for other students to pursue knowledge with passion and purpose.

Ospoly Mgt Announces Disengagement of Part-Time Staff

 By: Tomiwa Obisesan The Management Of Osun state polytechnic, Iree have noticed with Dismay that a Large Percentage Of Part-Time Staff have not been coming to the Office and had been Collecting Unmerited Salaries . This was stated today Saturday, January 18,2025 through an internal memorandum signed by the school registrar Mrs. Foyinsade O. Apara . Furthermore, management had decided to disengage all Part-Time/Contract staff members with effect from Friday, 31st January, 2025 . However, the memo informed all disengaged Part-Time /Contract staff members who are willing to continue with the institution to re-apply through their Head of Department (HOD)/ Head of Unit , (HOU), who in addition would recommend such member of Staff if found . “ Application for Re-Engagement with recommendation letter from HOD/HOU are to be directed to the Registrar and submitted to the Personnel Affairs Office on or before the close of work on Wednesday, 29th January,2025.” the memo noted

Ospoly Mgt Sets #30,000 Penalty for Late Course Registration

 BY : TOMIWA OBISESAN  The Management of Osun State Polytechnic,Iree has Noticed with Dismay that Many Students were yet to Register for 2024/2025 First Semester Course Registration and thereby Delaying the Processing of Examination Results. This was stated through an internal memorandum today 7th of August, 2025 from the Office of the Registrar Mr Abiodun Oloyede  However, the memo highlights the institution's concern over the low registration turnout, which is significantly impacting the processing of examination results. The memo, addressed to all students, stresses the importance of timely registration. It states that any student who has failed to complete their course registration by the deadline of Monday, August 4th, 2025, will be subject to a hefty penalty.  “ The late registration fee has been set at Thirty Thousand Naira (#30,000.00)” says the memo
