FICT Students Shine at Osun State Polytechnic’s SUA Competitions

The Students’ Representatives of the prestigious Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FICT), Daily Part-Time Programme, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, have once again showcased their intellectual prowess by emerging winners of the Student Union Association (SUA) Quiz Competition and second-place finishers in the Debate Competition.
The SUA Quiz Competition, held on Monday, October 27th, 2025, at NLH 2, and the Debate Competition, held on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025, featured students from various faculties.
FICT’s quiz team, comprising three talented members, demonstrated exceptional knowledge and quick thinking across multiple rounds, including general knowledge, current affairs, and technical expertise to claim first place overall.
Meanwhile, the FICT debate team, made up of four representatives, displayed outstanding oratory and critical thinking skills to secure second place in a keenly contested event that impressed both judges and audience members.
Their collective success has brought pride and recognition to the faculty and further solidified FICT’s reputation as a hub of academic excellence.

Afolayan Oluwadamilare expressed his gratitude, saying, “I feel blessed and lucky to represent the faculty. The encouragement from our executives made us believe we could do it, and I’m grateful to God for our first-place win.”
Adedokun Miracle said, “I’m excited and thankful for the opportunity. I appreciate our executives for making it work for us.”
Babade Seun shared, “I feel proud and thankful for the effort of the NEB executives and the FICT leadership. Their support made this achievement possible.”
Anozie Favour added, “I’m happy to represent my faculty for the first time as a debater. The NEB’s support helped build my confidence, and I’m proud of my performance.”
Ayeni Blessing appreciated her leaders, saying, “I thank my president, the EIC of the Namacos Editorial Board, and the financial secretary for their support throughout the competition.”
Oladepo Abdullah noted, “It was a great opportunity to be among the debaters and to represent the faculty.”
Moshood Wonderful concluded, “I appreciate Agbaye for his efforts in motivating us to believe in ourselves.”
Leadership and Acknowledgements
The Faculty of Information and Communication Technology is currently led by Lady Comr. Ayodele Bamise, with Hon. Comr. Edm Oyedele Ibrahim heading the NAMACOS members and EDM Obisesan Tomiwa, leading the NAMACOS Editorial Board.
Their leadership and dedication were instrumental in preparing and supporting the students who made the faculty proud.
