OSPOLY Issues Security Alert, Advises Students to Stay Indoors from 9 p.m

The management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree (OSPOLY) has announced a security warning to the entire polytechnic community, urging students to stay indoors from 9:00 p.m. daily due to potential threats in Iree and its environment.
This was stated through an internal memorandum today 7th of October 2025 and also signed by R. I. Adebayo on behalf of the Registrar.
However, The memo revealed that the alert was based on intelligence gathered about the presence of suspected Fulani herdsmen, which may cause serious security risks to students and citizens in the area.
“Students are hereby informed to stay indoors anytime from 9:00 p.m.,” the memo read
Moreover, The management of osun state polytechnic Iree has advised all students to monitor their movement closely and report any suspicious activity or threats around their hostels to the institution’s Chief Security Officer.
