OSPOLY Mass Comm Coordinator, Adewumi Warns New Students Against Exam Malpractice

The Coordinator of the Daily Part-Time (DPT) Mass Communication Program at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Mr. Adewumi Temitope, has cautioned all the newly admitted students to steer clear of examination malpractice.
Adewumi said this today Tuesday, April 21st, 2026, during an orientation program held at Hall 4, Koko Campus.
Mr. Adewumi issued a stern warning that any student caught engaging in malpractice such as bringing phones or unauthorized materials into the examination hall will face disciplinary panels and risk disqualification.
He further emphasized the importance of adhering to the department’s dress code, noting that Mass Communication students must wear white T-shirts and black trousers every Monday and Wednesday, According to him, he also warned the students against indecent dressing on campus.
Mr. Adewumi also urged students to complete their course registration, pay school fees promptly, and ensure they undergo proper screening. He explained that obtaining receipts and exam clearance is mandatory, as these serve as entry passes to the examination hall.
More-so He guided the students on calculating their Grade Point (GP), stressing that failing a course negatively impacts their GP and requires a repeat in the following year.
The program was also graced with the Presence of Dr. Aderemi Adeagbo Coordinator of Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) and Mr. Akinola, Coordinator of the Mass Communication Department (University of Ilorin Affiliated).
Dr. Adeagbo highlighted the importance of the Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES), describing it as the most credit-heavy course in the department and a vital opportunity for students to gain practical experience in media organizations.
In addition Mr. Akinola also educated the students on how to access the school portal and register their courses, reminding them that unregistered courses will not be graded.
