OSPOLY Rector, Kehinde Alabi, Warns Against Cultism, Promises Better Facilities for Students

The Rector of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Comrade Kehinde Alabi, has reaffirmed the institution’s zero tolerance for cultism and indecent dressing, urging students to embrace discipline and academic excellence.
He said this, today, 21st of May, 2026, at the Daily Part-Time (DPT) matriculation ceremony held at the Educational Trust Fund (ETF) Hall.
He strongly emphasized that all students must resolutely shun cultism and indecent dressing, stressing that these negative behaviors not only undermine the values of the institution but also contribute significantly to the rise of societal crimes and moral decay.
Moreover, He urged all the matriculating students to remain focused on their primary purpose, learning and acquiring knowledge and skills.
“Attend lectures regularly, participate in tutorials, seek help early from lecturers, and avoid examination malpractice or any sharp practices that could jeopardize your academic journey” Mr Kehinde Alabi advised the students
He assured the students that management is working tirelessly to provide conducive lecture halls, well equipped laboratories, modern library resources including e-books, internet access, adequate security, electricity, and water supply to support seamless learning.
He further explained that students who distinguish themselves could gain direct entry into degree programs through the institution’s affiliations with two reputable federal universities. He also clarified that graduates of the Higher National Diploma (HND) program are now eligible for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), removing a long-standing hurdle.
In addition, Alabi announced that the polytechnic has commenced the construction of modern hostels to ease accommodation challenges faced by many students.
