OSPOLY Management Shuts Door on Campus Paramilitary Groups

The Management of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has Issued a Directive Prohibiting the Activities of all Paramilitary Groups within the Institution, Citing Concerns over Peace, Safety, and Order on Campus.

In an internal memorandum signed by the Registrar, Abiodun O. Oloyede, the institution warned that unauthorized groups such as Man ‘O’ War, Opiaka, Cadet, and NDLEA must cease operations immediately. The memo emphasized that only officially recognized security outfits are permitted to handle matters relating to law and order.

“All paramilitary groups are totally banned from operating on campus and all cases of students’ crises or security concerns must be reported immediately to the Security Office and the Directorate of Student Affairs,” the memo stated.

However, Management further directed that issues relating to student crises, disputes, or disciplinary matters must not be handled by unauthorized groups or individuals. Instead, such concerns should be reported immediately to the Security Office and the Directorate of Student Affairs.

The management further cautioned that any group or individual found culpable would face decisive disciplinary action in line with the institution’s rules and extant laws. Students were urged to comply and give the directive the necessary publicity.
